This knitting class is suitable for knitters who have been actively knitting and would like to expand their technical skills. If you know how to knit, but it has been a few years since you picked up needles and yarn, please take the Introduction to Knitting class first.

In the Pickup Line-- Fearless Finishing 2: Picking Up Stitches, Bands, and Buttonholes

IFinishing details can make or break a sweater. Learn how to avoid frustration when picking up stitches and create bands and buttonholes that you'll be proud to wear. Pre-class homework required, or you may bring completed pieces of an actual project that needs the neckband, front bands & buttonholes. By Cheryl Murray.

Please purchase your class supplies before the first day of class. You can order online and ask that we leave it at the store to pick up. All shipping charges will be removed.

Class supply list: (NOTE: if you have also enrolled in Fearless Finishing 1, you can bring the same swatches and supplies for both classes)

• 3 Homework Swatches (see below)
• Left over yarn & needles from swatches.
• Additional yarn in contrasting color in same weight as swatches
• Circular needle (any length) in 1-2 sizes smaller than used for swatch
• Tapestry/yarn needle for sewing
• Scissors
• Crochet hook (optional)
• HOMEWORK:
Please prepare the following 3 swatches before class. Swatches should be worked with worsted or chunky weight yarn using needles appropriate to yarn weight (US#7 or 8 for worsted, US# 9 or 10 for chunky). Block swatches.
• Swatch #1:
CO 30 sts. Work K2, P2 ribbing for 4 rows. Begin working in Stockinette st. Work even until piece measures 2" from beg. BO 6 sts at beg of next RS row. Then BO 2 sts at beg of next 2 RS rows. Dec 1 st at beg of every RS row 5 times as follows: K1, SSK, K to end (15 sts). Work even until piece measures 5" from beg. BO all sts.
• Swatch #2:
CO 14 sts. Work K2, P2 ribbing for 4 row, increasing 1 st in last row (15 sts). Work even in Stockinette st until piece measures 5" from beg. BO all sts.
• Swatch #3:
CO 22 sts. Work K2, P2 ribbing for 4 rows, decreasing 2 sts in last row (20 sts). Work even in Stockinette st un piece measures 4" from beg. BO all sts.

PARKING: The parking garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street. Top level parking is free. Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Street level and basement level parking is limited to 2 hours. Pay stations are located at each stairwell on the street level. Sunday parking is free downtown.
