Double weave can take some practice to bend your mind around but weaving these handy pot holders takes you through the steps and gives you a set of potholders with matching tabletop hot pad when you are done. The warp and the weft are both Lamb's Pride Bulky, a heavy weight yarn that blends wool and mohair, which are naturally resistant to flame. Two blocks are used and in the center, the layers exchange to create a square within a square. The Lamb's Pride Bulky is sett at 5 epi per layer and beaten at 5 ppi per layer so the weaving goes fairly quickly. The finished pot holders measure 9" x 9" and the hot pad is 9" x 13.5". They can be hand washed and dried flat.
You will need:
- Lamb's Pride Bulky: 2 skeins each of 2 colors; 1 oz 5/2 perle cotton

- 10 dent reed
- 100 heddles
