Sometimes a design just sizzles. In Heat Wave, we've combined the visual movement of undulating twill with dynamic color. The warp is Nature Spun Sport, a 100% wool yarn sett at 12 epi in an 8-harness undulating twill. The visible weft is Lanaloft Handpaint, a variegated wool yarn, that adds a lot of drama. And because undulating twills can have long floats that risk snagging, we've added a fine tabby weft of 16/2 Bamboo in a coordinating color to keep the fabric stable. The kit makes one shawl with dimensions of about 13.5" x 62" plus fringe. It can be hand washed and dried flat.
You will need:
- 16” weaving width
- 8 harnesses
- 12-dent reed
- 192 heddles
- 2 boat shuttles and bobbins
Our scarf uses Nature Spun Sport 145 Salmon as the warp, with Lanaloft Handpaint 100 Wine Fire as the pattern weft and 16/2 Bamboo 5213 Cayenne as the tabby weft.
