We're channeling a winter wonderland with this shawl featuring a hand-dyed metallic yarn. Rayon Metallic, from Blue Heron Yarns, comes in a wonderful array of colors but we've picked one that evokes a January sky. And with snowfall in mind, we picked an 8-harness twill variation that looks a little like ice crystals. The warp is 8/2 Tencel, sett at 24 epi. The weft is Rayon Metallic, woven in an easy-to-remember treadling sequence. Throw this supple shawl around your shoulders or spread it on a table as a very fancy runner. Final measurements are 14.5" x 62" plus fringe. It can be hand washed and dried flat with a brief fluff in the dryer.

• 12-dent reed
• 369 heddles
