Keep that summer vibe going all year around with the Gelato Placemats. Inspired by the happy colors of everyone's favorite summer treat, they are sure to brighten up even dull winter days. This is an easy project and can be made on either a loom with harnesses or a rigid heddle loom. The warp is Nifty Cotton Splash, a 100% cotton yarn that is splatter dyed for a speckled effect. The stripes in the warp are solid color Happy Cotton. The weft is easy--just the same color of Nifty Cotton Splash that you used in your warp, woven in plain weave. The pattern has instructions for four different striping sequences and you can use any of the striping sequences with any of the color combinations. Make this project your own!. The kit makes four hemmed placemats with finished dimensions of 12" x 17.5". They can be machine washed and dried.

You will need:

• 5 skeins Nifty Cotton Splash
• 1 skein each of three colors of Happy Cotton
• 14" weaving width
• 2 harnesses or rigid heddle loom
• 12-dent reed or rigid heddle
• boat shuttle and bobbin or flat shuttle
• needle and thread or sewing machine for hemming
