Detailed Description

Shadow weave can give the impression of movement without creating long floats in the fabric. In this shawl, inspired by the river that runs through Lawrence, we've used shadow weave to evoke the swirls and ripples of water. The yarns are hand-dyed Zig Zag, a textured rayon, and Rayon Chenille. The rayon gives heft and drape to the shawl, which is long enough to really wrap up in, at 14.5" x 80". It can be hand washed and dried flat, with a brief fluff in the dryer.

You will need:

  • 2 skeins Zig Zag; 2 cones Rayon Chenille
  • 18.25” weaving width
  • 4 harnesses
  • 10 dent reed
  • 181 heddles
  • two boat shuttles and bobbins

Our scarf is woven using Zig Zag in color Indian Camp and Rayon Chenille in Black.
