Detailed Description

The Fiber Artist bobbin winder is an example of a tool that does just one thing but does it extremely well. It is a belt-driven bobbin winder, which means no gears to worry about damaging or to get clogged with fiber. The winder clamps to a table or countertop up to 2.25" thick. It turns on sealed ball bearings. The shaft is driven using a sturdy urethane belt at a ratio of 11:1, for efficient winding.

The Fiber Artist bobbin winder can wind:

  • Schacht white plastic bobbins
  • Leclerc gold plastic bobbins
  • Harrisville wooden bobbins
  • Leclerc wooden pirns
  • Bluster Bay paper pirns
  • Leclerc gold plastic spools
  • Glimakra paper quills slide about 1/2" onto the tip of the winder, but grip solidly

    It does not work with Schacht black plastic pirns, cardboard spools, or Ashford plastic bobbins.

    The Fiber Artist bobbin winder is made of hard maple and ApplePly, finished with Danish oil. It is made in Cincinnati, OH.
