FESTIVAL OF STITCHES WRAP
Starts: July 13 (Mon.), 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Meets: July 20, Aug. 3, 17, 31 (5 sessions total)
Join us for our first ever ZOOM class! Cheryl Murray will guide you virtually as you create this stunning wrap designed by Lisa Hannes. Your shawl will be a buffet of knitting stitches and techniques, including bobbles, lace and cables, and mosaic colorwork, but you don't have to already be an experienced knitter. If you can confidently cast on, knit, and purl, you are ready for this class. Your wrap will be made of 3 colors of fingering weight yarn and size US 4 needles. (Get your yarn from us and get a 20% discount!) This class meets online via Zoom for 2 weeks in a row, then every other week for 3 additional sessions. You will need to work on the project between sessions in order to finish by the end of class. By Cheryl Murray.
Supplies for class:
Three colors of fingering weight yarn. 400 yards of EACH color. Two colors should be high contrast and the third color should "pop" against the first two. Solid or semi-solids will show off the stitches best, but lightly speckled or lightly variegated colors will work. We recommend Peerie for great solid options and La Jolla for light speckles and light variegated colors.
Virtual class enrollees get 20% off their yarn purchase for class project.
24" circular US 4 (3.5 mm) needle plus an optional additional 24"-32" US 4 needle. Other options are an interchangeable needle set with additional cord lengths or waste yarn.
Purchase and download Festival of Stitches pattern ($7.00) from Ravelry.
You'll need a device with a good internet connection and Zoom installed.
2 stitch markers
kitchen or yarn scale (optional)
waste yarn if not using additonal needle (see above)
We can take a maximum of 12 students for this class so sign up early!
