The crochet class listed below is suitable for crocheters who have been actively crocheting and would like to expand their technical skills. If you know how to crochet, but it has been a few years since you picked up a hook and yarn, please take the Introduction to Crochet class first.

Fennec Fox

Are you feeling world cup fever? Even if you don't know the difference between a football and a soccer ball, this fennec fox project is too cute to pass up. Lawrence is hosting Algeria's soccer team this summer, and the adorable large eared fennec fox is the team's mascot. This is an intermediate crochet class, and you need to be a confident crocheter in basic techniques and pattern reading. There is lots of shaping within the pieces to make a head shape, sewing pieces together, and crocheting pieces flat or in the round. By Rebecca Cook.

Class supply list:

• Download and print the Fennec Fox pattern ($6.50).
• Approximately130 yards of main color for body (tan or brown) and 3 yards in black in a worsted weight yarn. We recommend Nifty Cotton or Plymouth Encore.
• Crochet hook US C or 2.75 mm
• Locking stitch markers
• Fiberfill
• Blunt tapestry needle
• Straight pins to mark stitches when assembling
• Scissors
• Optional: Faux fur, thread, and needle to sew on fox

PARKING: The parking garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street. Top level parking is free. Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Street level and basement level parking is limited to 2 hours. Pay stations are located at each stairwell on the street level. Sunday parking is free downtown.
