Detailed Description

Don't let the beauty of this scarf fool you--this was one easy project! It gets its liveliness from a hand-dyed yarn by Interlacements called Georgia Cotton. This spiral cotton is soft, with a beautiful combination of colors and fun texture in each skein. We paired it with a solid color of Ad Astra 4/2 cotton. The warp mixes stripes of both, sett at 10 epi. The weft is just Ad Astra, woven at 12 picks per inch. Easy! The kit makes 1 scarf measuring approximately 11" x 74". The scarf can be handwashed and air dried, with a brief fluff in the dryer.

You will need:

  • 1 skein Georgia Cotton, 1 cone Ad Astra 4/2 Cotton
  • 13" weaving width
  • 2 harnesses or rigid heddle loom
  • 10-dent reed if using a loom with harnesses
  • 128 heddles if using a harness loom
  • boat shuttle and bobbin or flat shuttle

We wove our scarf using Georgia Cotton color Canyonlands Plus and Ad Astra 4/2 Cotton color 28 Cattails.
