Falkland top is wool that comes from the Falkland Islands rather than a breed named "Falkland". The sheep of the islands are descended mostly from Polwarth, Corriedale, and Merino. Because of the climate of the Falkland Islands, insects and disease are not a problem and the sheep do not go through dipping or mulesing.
The staple length is typically 4-6 inches with a diameter of 26 microns.
This wool can be dyed using Washfast dyes.
