Normandy linen is a fine line linen, with a smooth surface and occasional slubs. The 40/2 weight is used here in a 4 harness lace pattern, with lace blocks surrounded by plain weave blocks. Hemstitching at each end gives a nifty finish. This project is flexible-our two runners are 55.5" long, but there is plenty of yarn here to make them much longer to suit a large-scale table, or to weave additional placemats. This linen is fine, sett at 24 epi, but it is sturdy enough to stand up to years of use.
- makes 2 runners, 13" x 55.5"
- 4-harness Atwater-Bronson lace
- 14.5" weaving width sett at 24 epi
- designed for 40/2 linen
- challenge--warp is inelastic but strong for its size
