Look at Dapple's colors and you'll see why it is so different. The skeins are intentionally dyed in a variety of tints within each color. This opens the door to fantastic one-of-a-kind garments which feature fades from dark to light, alternating bands of different intensities, or purposeful placement of dark and light within a design. But what if you'd like something more uniform? You can alternate one- or two-row stripes worked from skeins of various tints for a more blended look. However you decide to work the color, when you knit with Dapple, you create fabric with amazing depth and texture. When you make a sweater in Dapple, you know that no one else has a sweater just like yours.
Have a vision for how the color will work in your project? It is best to call at 800-468-0035 and talk to us about it. We can look at our current stock and make suggestions based on the skeins we have. Otherwise, we'll pull skeins at random to fill your order and let chance take a hand!
Dapple is the latest example of Brooklyn Tweed's investment in US production. It is a blend of 60% Merino wool from Colorado and 40% organic cotton raised in Texas. The fibers then go to Two-Rivers, Wisconsin to be woolen spun for a lofty ply and then twisted together into a 2-ply DK weight yarn. Their final step in processing is in Philadelphia, where they are dyed in their distinctive tonal colors. In addition, Brooklyn Tweed is contributing 3% of the profit from this yarn to the National Black Farmers Association for as long as they make the yarn.

Dapple comes in a reeled hank which must be wound into a ball before use. We are happy to wind it for you and there is no fee for winding, but it does make the yarn non-returnable. If you would like us to wind it for you, please tell us in the box headed "Shipping Instructions" when you check out.
