This blanket is cute as a button and with plenty of drape to boot. It is woven using Bamboo Pop, a yarn made with cotton and rayon from bamboo. That makes it soft, supple, and very breathable. We striped the warp with two colors of Bamboo Pop, sett at 12 epi. The weft is a single color, beaten at 12 ppi. The 8 harness point twill variation creates areas of plain weave that are crossed with a web of floats. Even though the motifs are made of diagonals, they look like circles after the fabric is washed. The blanket is 29" x 40" plus fringe and can be hand washed and dried flat, with a short tumble in the dryer to fluff the fabric.
You will need:
- 35" weaving width
- 8 harnesses
- 12 dent reed
- 415 heddles
- 1 large boat shuttle and bobbin
Our blanket used Bamboo Pop in the variegated color 219 Fire Mix as the main warp color with 103 Strawberry as an accent and 120 Graphite as the weft color.
