My First Mittens

Nov. 3 (Mon.) 6-8 p.m. 4 weeks, skip 11/24

These cozy mittens will make scraping your windshield or walking your dog less chilly this winter. The cozy crochet mittens feature a ribbed, folded cuff and a beautifully textured fabric that keeps fingers warm and is gender neutral, so you can use the same pattern to make mittens for the whole family. These mittens are intermediate level crochet with some more advanced techniques including seaming pieces, binding off and casting on stitches in the middle of the project, increases, and using front post and back loop only crochet stitches. Students must already be familiar with double crochet and single crochet stitches. By Rebecca Cook.
