 Crochet Emergency Preparedness

April 10 (Weds.) 6-8 p.m. 1 day

Did you know that April is emergency preparedness month?  That means being prepared to thwart any crochet emergencies too!  Boost your crochet confidence with this skill building class.  Learn how to prevent some crochet mistakes before they happen and how to repair several common mistakes without ripping back half your project.  We will repair the center of a granny square, repair stitches in the middle of swatch, and securely weave in ends.  Homework swatches are required.  By Rebecca Cook.

Supply List and Homework:

  • Smooth, light-colored worsted weight yarn in two colors
  • 5.0mm US H crochet hook 
  • Locking stitch markers (safety pin style)
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • Measuring Tape



Swatch 1: Make a 6" by 6" single crochet swatch. 

Row 1: Chain 26. Single crochet in the second chain from hook and across chain (25 sc).   

Row 2: Chain 1, turn and SC across the row. 

Repeat row 2 for 6" (around 24 rows). Cut an 8" tail and fasten off


PARKING:  The New Hampshire Parking Garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street.  Top level parking is free.  Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park for the whole day.  Street level and basement level parking is 2-hour free parking.  Pay stations are located at each stairwell on the street level.  Sunday parking is free downtown.
