Stand out in a crowd on a dreary winter day! With Kaffe Fassett's Contrast Zig Zag Scarf, everyone will be looking. It uses ten colors of Felted Tweed, including new ones designed by Kaffe. Felted Tweed is a blend of 50% Merino wool, 25% alpaca, and 25% viscose. The yarn is slightly pre-felted, for a lightweight and subtly fuzzy fabric. This scarf is worked as a tube. It starts and ends with a garter stitch border and the center section is stockinette. The zig zag patterning is worked from a large, clear chart.
The finished scarf measures 88.25" long x 8.25" wide. It can be machine washed and dried flat. Rowan has assigned this project a skill level of intermediate.
The kit includes the yarn and the pattern as a pdf download through Ravelry. You will also need:
- 16" or shorter circular needle in US size 6 (OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE)
- tapestry needle
