Colours in the Mist is just plain happy. The misty blue main color is the perfect background for stripes that are light and bright. Color maestro Kaffe Fassett selected stripe colors in pairs for maximum impact. The next cold, gray day, you'll be reaching for this sweater! And it won't take long to make, since it has minimal shaping and straightforward stockinette fabric. The back, front, and set-in sleeves are knit flat and then joined at the shoulder. Stitches are picked up and worked flat in rib for the neckband, then the shoulder and neck are seamed. Finished chest measurements are 37 (41, 45, 49)" with finished lengths of 23.25 (24, 25, 25.5, 26.5)".
Colours in the Mist is knit using a Rowan yarn that has been a favorite for years: Felted Tweed. It is a blend of 50% Merino wool, 25% alpaca, and 25% viscose spun into a lofty yarn with a slight halo to the finished fabric. It has a soft hand and beautiful tweeded colors. Best of all, it can be machine washed and dried flat. It is a DK weight yarn that is knit at 6 stitches per inch in stockinette in this project.
The kit includes the yarn and the complete pattern book Kaffe Fassett's Winter Vintage. For this project you will also need:
- single point needles in US size 5 (OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE)
