Detailed Description

Cody is a beautiful springy yarn that is manufactured entirely in Wyoming, from raising the sheep to dyeing the yarn to winding the hanks. Its slightly tonal colors give a rustic quality to the yarn. Here, we've woven Cody in a 4-color plaid. This easy plain weave scarf can be woven on a rigid heddle loom or a loom with harnesses. The warp is sett at 12 or 12.5 ends per inch and woven at a matching beat. The instructions are for weaving one scarf with finished dimensions of approximately 70" x 70.5" plus fringe if woven on a rigid heddle loom. If woven on a loom with harnesses, it will probably be a little shorter. The scarf can be hand washed and dried flat.

You will need:

  • Cody: 1 skein each of 4 colors
  • 9" weaving width
  • 2 harnesses or rigid heddle loom
  • 12-dent reed or rigid heddle in 12 or 12.5 dent
  • 100 heddles if using a loom with harnesses
  • 1 boat shuttle and 4 bobbins or 4 flat shuttles

We used Cody colors Pumpkin, Brick, Moss, and Lupine.
