Cloudberry is a poncho with polish! It is knit as a simple rectangle but the neat band of lace and the beginning and end class it up. The rectangle folds and then stitches are picked up at the neck opening and worked in the round for the striking collar. The 4-row lace pattern is worked from written instructions. Finished measurements are 27.5 (30, 32.25)" on the short side with lengths of 55 (60, 64.5)" on the longer side. The poncho can be hand washed and dried flat. Rowan gives this Martin Storey design a difficulty rating of 2 out of 4 (straightforward knitting and various shaping techniques.)
Moordale is one of Rowan's yarns made entirely of British-raised fiber. It combines 70% wool and 30% alpaca for a yarn that is lightweight and warm. The alpaca gives a nice drape to the fabric for this poncho. Moordale is a sport weight yarn that knits at 5.75 stitches per inch in stockinette for this project.
