Blue-Face Leicester is a British breed that was developed a little over a century ago. It is a longwool, with a staple length of 3-6 inches. The fiber forms long, curly locks, as opposed to crimps. It is semilustrous and fairly fine, at 56-60's, or 28-24 microns. It has a soft and silky hand.
Blue-Face Leicester is strong and can make a smooth, well-draping fabric. It felts slowly but yields a textured surface.
This wool can be dyed using Washfast dyes.
