In this geometric design, warp floats dominate on one side while weft floats are more prominent on the reverse. The structure is Swedish lace and you can see the "windowpane" effect when you hold the scarf up to the light, but the overall effect is not delicate. The design is made by repeating two different Swedish lace blocks in bands, separated by plain weave. We've woven it in Alpaca Silk, a blend of 80% alpaca and 20% silk. The yarn is quite fine so it is sett at 20 epi. The finished scarf weighs only 2 ½ oz, but the fiber blend means that it is warm even as it is lightweight. The directions are for one scarf with finished dimensions of 5.75" x 61.5" plus fringe, but there is ample yarn for additional scarves. The scarf can be hand washed and air dried, with a quick tumble in the dryer to soften the fabric.
