Detailed Description

Birds of a Feather is a hand-dyed rayon yarn with wonderful, dynamic colors and a squishy eyelash texture. It is the star of the show in this easy shawl. The warp is Birds of a Feather, sett at 12 epi. The weft is sleek Cotton 8/4, woven in speedy plain weave. The fabric is colorful, delightful to touch, and has great drape. This will be your go-to shawl for cool summer evenings or rooms that have the air conditioner blasting. The finished stole measures approximately 18.5" x 69" if woven on a harness loom; longer if woven on a rigid heddle loom. It can be hand washed and dried flat.

You will need:

  • Birds of a Feather: 2 skeins
  • Cotton 8/4: 1 tube
  • 20" weaving width
  • 2 harnesses (not a rigid heddle loom)
  • 12 dent reed
  • 240 heddles
  • boat shuttles and bobbin or flat shuttle

We wove our stole using Birds of a Feather color Telemark and Cotton 8/4 color 8267 Grass Green.
