Clew has a delicate lace motif and graceful curve on its lower edge. It is generously sized, too, for when you really want to wrap up. The knitting starts at the back neck and works downward in garter stitch, The lace repeat is worked from your choice of written or charted instructions. A band of stockinette runs horizontally just below the shoulders. Finished shawl measures approximately 72" across top and 30" long after blocking. Berroco has given this Alison Green design a difficulty rating of intermediate.
Clew uses Berroco's thick-and-thin spring and summer yarn called Quinoa. It is 91% cotton and 9% nylon, with irregular slubs that create a casual, pebbly texture. It is a DK weight yarn but is knit loosely here at 4.5 stitches per inch in stockinette. Quinoa can be machine washed but we recommend hand washing for this lace design.
