This class is designed for students who have never used a drop spindle or spun any yarn.
Beginning Drop Spindle Spinning
April 28 (Mon.) 6-8 p.m., 1 day
Learn how to use a top or bottom whorl spindle to transform spinning fiber into yarn. This beginning level class focuses on how to manage your fiber and spindle to make a continuous thread. We will cover basic spinning terms, getting started, what to do with your spun yarn, and making 2-ply yarn. Fiber will be provided in class. Please plan to bring or purchase a 1- to 3-ounce spindle (60 mm) for class. We recommend the small Ashford Top Whorl spindle ($25.50). By Caitlin Wilson.
