BEGINNING RIGID HEDDLE WEAVING

August 2-3 Sat.-Sun. 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. 2 days

If you like color and texture, then weave with the rigid heddle loom. You will learn a fast way to thread the loom and then weave a scarf. We will provide a loom to use during class, but if you bring your own loom, be sure it is complete, assembled, and in working condition with an 8- or 7.5-dent heddle. You can receive a 10% off any rigid heddle loom if you purchase it during class. Materials not included. By Katie Werner.

Please purchase your class supplies before the first day of class. You can order it online. Just be sure to include a message that we should hold the yarn at the store for pick up during class.

Class supply list:

  • 1-2 skeins each of 2 colors of worsted weight yarn. We recommend using two different colors to make stripes or a plaid. We recommend Malabrigo Rios and Cascade 220 Superwash for a wool version. If you want a cotton yarn, try Nifty Cotton Splash and Nifty Cotton.
  • If bringing your own loom, it must be at least 10" wide, fully assembled and in good working condition. You will need an 8- or 7.5-dent heddle.
  • Notebook and pen
  • GOOD SCISSORS
  • tape measure

PARKING: The parking garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street. Top level parking is free. Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
