Beginning Rigid Heddle Weaving

February 10-11 (Sat.-Sun.) 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. 2 days

If you like color and texture, then weave with the rigid heddle loom.  You will learn a fast way to thread the loom and then weave a scarf.  We will provide a loom to use during class, but if you bring your own loom,  be sure it is complete, assembles, and in working condition with an 8- or 7.5-dent heddle.  Materials not included.  By Bea Bonanno.

Class supply list:

  • 1-2 skeins each of 2 colors of worsted weight yarn.  We recommend using two different colors to make stripes or a plaid.  Malabrigo Rios and Cascade 220 Superwash make a great combination.
  • If bringing your own loom, it must be at least 10" wide, fully assembled and in good working condition.  You will need an 8- or 7.5-dent heddle.
  • Notebook and pen
  • tape measure

It's best to come to class with your supplies, but you may arrive a few minutes early to purchase them before class starts.

PARKING: The parking garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street.  Top level is free.  Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park for the whole day.  Street level and basment level parking has a 2-hour parking limit.  Pay stations are located at each stairwell on the street level.  Sunday parking is free downtown.
