The beginning classes are for novice weavers and designed for students who have never woven before. Loom and equipment use provided.

BEGINNING HARNESS WEAVING

August 9-10 (Sat.-Sun.) 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. 2 days

Learn all you need to know to start weaving on a four-harness floor loom. Warp, weft, sett, epi, ppi, draft, tie-up and more are weaving terms you will learn. You will measure your warp, thread the loom, learn to read a threading draft, and weave a sampler of several different patterns.Materials not included. By Bea Bonanno.

Class supply list:

    Please purchase your class supplies before the first day of class. You can order it online. Just be sure to include a message that we should hold the yarn at the store to pick up during class.

  • 1 mini cone each of 3 colors in 3/2 perle cotton.
  • Looms and equipment will be provided during class.
  • Glasses, lots of close-up work involved in weaving!
  • GOOD SCISSORS

PARKING: The parking garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street. Top level parking is free. Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Street level and basement level parking is limited to 2 hours. Pay stations are located at each stairwell on the street level. Sunday parking is free downtown.
