The crochet class listed below is suitable for crocheters who have been actively crocheting and would like to expand their technical skills. If you know how to crochet, but it has been a few years since you picked up a hook and yarn, please take the Introduction to Crochet class first.

Beginner Mosaic Crochet Tote

July 26 (Sun.) 1:30-3:30 p.m. 3 weeks

The mosaic bricks tote works up quickly using worsted weight yarn. You can use multicolor yarn or two solids. You will learn the mosaic crochet technique working with front and back loop stitches as well as reading mosaic crochet charts. If you can do basic crochet stitches, you have the foundation for this class. By Rebecca Cook.

Class supply list:

• Download and print the Mosaic Bricks Tote pattern ($4).
• Small tote: Approximately143 yards of main color and 62 yards of accent color in a worsted weight yarn. Large tote: 257 yards of main color and 67 yards of accent color in a worsted weight yarn. We recommend Nifty Cotton.
• Crochet hook US G or 4.00 mm
• Locking stitch markers
• A way to mark rows on chart (highlighter tape, post its, or magnetic chart holder
• Blunt tapestry needle
• Scissors

PARKING: The parking garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street. Top level parking is free. Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Street level and basement level parking is limited to 2 hours. Pay stations are located at each stairwell on the street level. Sunday parking is free downtown.
