We're used to tiny zig-zags in twill fabric but in this one, we blew the scale up to just one big zig-zag. Then we added the fun texture of the Cotton Boucle. The warp is 8/2B cotton, sett at 20 epi. The weft is entirely the Cotton Boucle, beaten at a fast 12 ppi with a very easy treadling sequence. Cotton Boucle gives the fabric a springy feel, almost like terry cloth, and disguises less-than-perfect edges. The kit makes four hemmed towels with finished dimensions of 13" x 23".

You will need:

• 15" weaving width
• 8 harnesses
• 10-dent reed
• 300 heddles
• 1 boat shuttle and 2 bobbins
• needle and thread or sewing machine for hemming

We used 8/2B unmercerized cotton in 5029 Bermuda and Cotton Boucle in 4269 Kiwi.
