Edited by Virginia I. Harvey. This is a reprint of the Shuttle Craft Guild Monograph No. 36, originally published in 1982. Dr. William Bateman was a weaver who worked on an 8-harness table loom, methodically exploring various weave structures. His blend weaves take the basic summer and winter structure and then take it through evolutions by changing the order of the tie-down threads, the number of tie-down threads, and the variety of pattern threads per block. This is not for everyone, but those weavers who are fascinated by block weaves will find this a rewarding study. The book is filled with drafts for these weaves and black and white photos of woven examples.
