Ardenwald is a classic cabled hat that brings snowball fights, sledding, and hot chocolate to mind. Knit in Shelter, it isn't just for looks--this hat is warm! It is knit in the round from the bottom up, following two charts. The arching cables surround a nest of moss stitch before converging at the crown. The finished measurements are 21.5" around and 8.25" tall. The hat can be hand washed and dried flat. Brooklyn tweed rates this Jared Flood design as skill level 3 of 5 (intermediate).
Pitch was designed using Brooklyn Tweed's Shelter, a worsted-weight wool and the first yarn designed by Brooklyn Tweed. It is a a woolen-spun yarn so it is lofty, for a lightweight but warm hat. Wet blocking gives it a soft hand and slight fuzzy halo. Shelter is a worsted weight yarn and is knit at 5 stitches per inch in moss stitch in this design.
The kit includes the pattern and yarn. For this project you will also need:
- 16" circular needle in US size 7 (OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE)
