The crochet class listed below is suitable for crocheters who have been actively crocheting and would like to expand their technical skills. If you know how to crochet, but it has been a few years since you picked up a hook and yarn, please take the Introduction to Crochet class first.

Alphabet Mosaic Crochet

August 6 (Wed.) 6-8 p.m. 2 weeks

Mosaic crochet is a technique where stitches are worked over previous rows to create texture or colorwork layers. Lean standard overlay mosaic crochet stitches along with some intermediate mosaic stitches and make an alphabet sampler for your wall. The pattern includes all the letters in the English alphabet, as well as the numbers and a small heart fust for fun!This is an intermediate class, and students must have a working knowledge of basic crochet stitches. Supplies to bring, all of which are available at the Yarn Barn:

  • Download and print the Alphabet Mosaic pattern ($6.50)
  • Fingering weight cotton like Ad Astra Cotton. You will need 800 yards for the main color and a total of 800 yards for the contrast colors.
  • 2.75-3 mm crochet hook

PARKING: The parking garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street. Top level parking is free. Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Street level and basement level parking is limited to 2 hours. Pay stations are located at each stairwell on the street level. Sunday parking is free downtown.
