Silk Weaving Yarn

Silk is the natural protein fiber extruded from the spinnerets of the silkworm as it makes its cocoon. It is very strong and takes dye so well that intense, brilliant colors are possible. Filament silk is lustrous. Silk noil, spun from the short pieces of fiber, is soft but lacks luster and can look a little like cotton. Fabric woven from this beautiful fiber is luxurious, with beautiful drape and a dry hand.
