This knitting class is suitable for knitters who have been actively knitting and would like to expand their technical skills. If you know how to knit, but it has been a few years since you picked up needles and yarn, please take the Introduction to Knitting class first.

MY FIRST SOCKS-- Double Points

Everyone needs a nice pair of socks. Summer Lee's I'm So Basic sock pattern is free from Ravelry and is a great way to learn how to make your first pair of socks. You'll start off with double point needles and fingering weight yarn and hopefully get addicted to sock knitting. By Carla Tilghman.

Please purchase your class supplies before the first day of class. You can order materials online and request that we leave them at the store for a pick up. Be sure to include a note that you will pick up on the first day of class and we will remove the shipping fee and apply the class discount.

• Download and print I'm So Basic sock pattern (free) from Ravelry.
• 300-400 yards fingering weight yarn; you can choose a contrast color for the heels and toes-- we recommend Heritage and Addy Mini for the contrast.
• Double point US 1 needles-- we recommend Knitter's Pride Dreamz
• stitch marker

PARKING: The parking garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street. Top level parking is free. Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Street level and basement level parking is limited to 2 hours. Pay stations are located at each stairwell on the street level. Sunday parking is free downtown.
