Plain weave doesn't have to be plain! This scarf show what happens when you alternate thin stripes of two different colors in both the warp and the weft. You get something that looks like houndstooth! Here, we've used the houndstooth on the sides and a solid stripe in the warp in the center for variety. The scarf is made using a warm and cushy yarn called Ultra Alpaca Chunky. It is a blend of alpaca and wool with a heathered look. It is woven on a rigid heddle loom sett at 8 or 7.5 epi and woven at 7 ppi, so it is a quick project! The finished dimensions are 9.5" x 52.5". It can be hand washed and air dried.

You will need:

• 11" weaving width in a rigid heddle loom
• 8 or 7.5 dent rigid heddle
• two flat shuttles
