What a lovely one-shuttle weave this is; great for the beginner weaver who wants to start working with finer threads, in this case, with 22/2 Cottolin. The structure looks complicated, but is really just a 4 harness point twill/reverse point twill threading echoed with the same treadling. This project makes 4 bread basket towels with finished measurements of 16” x 24”. They can be machine washed and dried.

You will need:

• 18" weaving width
• 4 harnesses
• 10 dent reed
• 420 heddles

We wove our sample using a light and medium green in the 22/2 Cottolin. That was back in 2004 and the colors in this yarn have changed somewhat over the years. The additional photo above of the two tubes of cottolin shows the closest match in the current colors and those are the ones that will be included in the kit. However, there are lots of other greens, as well as other colors in this yarn line for you to customize your kit.
