The tension brake kit is used to replace the ratchet brake on the Louet David loom. Older looms were built with a metal ratchet brake that must be released by the weaver at the back beam. With the tension brake kit, the ratchet is replaced with the tension brake and a release handle that can be activated by the weaver without having to get up from the loom.
