We have fallen head over heels for Coast! We love its line of heathered colors that make it easy to put together combinations and we love the soft feel of the yarn. If you are looking to blend colors from one to another, holding a strand of two different colors allows you to get an intermediate color, perfect for tapestry weaving or color gradation in knitting. And washability? It can be machine washed on gentle! We stock all of these colors on the 1.75-ounce skeins but carry many of these colors on 1.1-pound cones, too. Pick a cone for your main color and skeins for the accents!

Coast works well for warp as long as you tension the warp evenly. If you struggle with broken warp threads, you might consider sticking to weft with Coast. But with good warping technique, you can enjoy this yarn for warp as well.

Coast comes from the manufacturer with a little spinning oil and excess dye on the surface of the yarn. The first time you wash your finished piece, the oil and excess dye will rinse out and the yarn will bloom, giving the fabric a soft hand. It is important to wash any gauge swatches or woven samples to accurately judge what the finished fabric will look like.
