12/6 seine twine is ideal for a warp-faced rug. The high twist and low elasticity means that it will wear like iron. The set-up is slow, with 720 doubled warp ends, but the weaving couldn't be faster at 4 ppi! The warp uses three colors of 12/6 seine twine sett at 40 epi. The ends are threaded through the heddles in pairs, which allows good coverage over the weft but reduces the number of heddles needed for the project and the time needed to thread them. The weft is the 75/6 mop cotton, woven in warp-faced plain weave.
