By Peggy Osterkamp. This is the fourth printing of Peggy Osterkamp's enormous compendium of weaving instruction and has been revised and updated for this printing. At 423 pages, it has the space to cover all phases of the basic weaving process on a loom with harnesses. Over 600 diagrams complement the text. The book assumes you don't know anything about weaving and are starting at the beginning, so it covers the basic terminology and equipment, then starts you measuring your first warp. Warping back-to-front and front-to-back are covered. Your first project is a sampler, and the book walks you through it step-by-step, right through finishing. Then it moves on to other projects to try, how to plan your own project, and good weaving techniques, like how to get good selvedges. There is also a section on rigid heddle weaving and the techniques that are specific to that type of weaving.
