This slip-on cardi is a wonder! It works with a whole range of looks and flatters all body types. It is an Andrea Mowry design, which means that the pattern is well-written, size-inclusive, and filled with helpful tips and links to tutorials. The Traveler Shell is knit from the bottom up in a combination of knit and purl rows that makes a stretchy ribbed fabric. The shoulders are shaped with short rows and then joined with a 3-needle bind-off. Stitches are picked up and knit in rib for the collar and cuffs. The kit includes yarn for optional pockets. (We chose not to knit the pockets.) The finished chest measurements are 34 (38, 42, 46) [50, 54, 58] {62, 66, 70}". This sweater can be machine washed on delicate in cold water and dried flat.
We knit the Traveler Shell in our own yarn, Ad Astra. It is a 100% organic cotton yarn, grown in Texas. It is spun and dyed in North Carolina for a 100% US-produced yarn. The 45-color palette is inspired by the colors found in nature. In this project, Ad Astra is knit loosely at a gauge of 6 stitches per inch.
The kit includes the Andrea Mowry pattern and the yarn. If you already have a Ravelry account and would like us to put the pattern in your library, please tell us your Ravelry user name in the box above with your color selection.
