Our Moorman Technique Scarf is like loom-controlled couching. You attach the inlay yarn to one side of the fabric with a fine, almost invisible supplementary warp thread. The technique is so versatile that it works equally well for a geometric design like ours or one that is freeform and curvy. We used Rayon Slub sett at 16 epi for the main warp with fine tie-down threads of 16/2 Bamboo. The inlay yarn is a variegated wool yarn that adds dramatic color to a supple background fabric. The kit makes one scarf with dimensions of about 6.75" x 69" plus fringe. It can be hand washed and dried flat.

You will need:

• 1 cone Rayon Slub; 1 tube 16/2 Bamboo; 1 skein variegated sport weight yarn
• 8” weaving width
• 4 harnesses
• 8-dent reed
• 192 heddles
• boat shuttle and bobbin
• 3 small flat shuttles (optional)
