When cold weather hits, you'll be happy to bundle up in a big, cozy wool wrap. And this one is special--it uses our exclusive 50th Anniversary yarn, Tall Grass. Tall Grass is a 100% wool yarn spun in Nebraska from wool raised in the US. It is hand-dyed in Kansas City by Th'Red Head in colorways that reflect the Kansas landscape. We've paired it with Brown Sheep's Nature Spun Worsted, another wool raised and spun in the US. The warp is sett at 10 epi and woven in easy twill at 8 ppi, so this is a relatively quick project despite its size. The finished wrap measures approximately 31" x 61". It can be hand washed and dried flat, with a short tumble in the dryer to fluff.
You will need:
- Tall Grass: 2 skeins
- Nature Spun Worsted: 1 skein each of 3 colors
- 36" weaving width
- 4 harnesses
- 10 dent reed
- 356 heddles
- large boat shuttle and bobbin
Our sample wrap was woven using Tall Grass color Wildflowers and Nature Spun Worsted colors 104 Grecian Olive, 142 Spiced Plum, and 147 True Blue Navy.
