The areas of plain weave collapse slightly adjacent to the ribs and resemble circles. In this monograph, Suzi Ballenger uses that as a starting point, but explores how M's and O's can be reinterpreted in more contemporary ways, using alternate treadling sequences, spaced warps, and unexpected yarns.
