Detailed Description

Using a log cabin color sequence allows you to get a great pattern from a rigid heddle loom. We combined a skein of Malabrio's hand-dyed yarn Rios with a solid contrast color of Cascade 220 Superwash. Alternating these two colors in both the warp and the weft creates blocks of stripes. It is just plain weave but has the look of a more complicated structure. The two yarns used are machine-washable wools, so the scarf is warm and easy to launder.
  • makes 1 scarf, 7" x 60"
  • plain weave (rigid heddle)
  • 10" weaving width sett at 7.5 or 8 epi
  • designed for Cascade 220 Superwash and Rios (wool)
  • challenge--alternating colors in both warp and weft
