Make a Vest that Fits YOU by Sandy Cahill & Phyllis Carlyle
Nov. 7-8 Saturday-Sunday 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Would you like to make a handwoven garment but are not sure of your sewing and fitting skills? This fast-paced two-day workshop will improve your confidence to cut into and sew your precious handwoven yardage! During the workshop, fiber artist/ production weaver Sandy Cahill will present a clever seaming method and several edge finishing techniques that result in a reversible vest. While learning these techniques, you will make detailed samples in class for future reference. Also, designer/patternmaker Phyllis Carlyle will help you achieve a custom fitted vest pattern that conforms to YOUR body. From her wealth of knowledge, Phyllis will present many sewing and pattern work techniques. Workshop students will receive a 15-page comprehensive handout including handwoven fabric, detailed instructions, gridded pattern material, and a list of resources. Your take-home book will include pockets for the samples you create in the class to be used for future reference.
