Louet's Octado is an 8-harness dobby loom that means that you'll never have to crawl under a loom to change the tie-up again! The dobby selects which harnesses will be lifted for each pick, following the sequence that you have prepared in advance. The electronic dobby works in conjuction with weaving software from Fiberworks PCW, Patternland, Weavemaker, Weave It, WeavePoint, or Pro Weave to interpret your design and lift the correct combination of harnesses for each weft pick. Replacing the traditional treadle and lamm operation means that an infinite number of harness lifts is possible--you are no longer limited to the number of treadles that can fit under your loom. And there is no climbing under the loom to tie up treadles. A single treadle under the loom lifts the harness combination that the dobby selects.
