She applied techniques from origami and woven fabrics to her garments, creating designs where the shape might be from a single folded rectangle--or 54 knitted pyramids!

The book is organized by the design concept. Within each section are seven projects that explore that concept, each with full instructions. The concepts are:

• Square Up--garments and accessories made from squares and rectangles
• Manipulate--flat surfaces are magically transformed with repetitive stitchwork
• Multiply--multiple squares, rectangles, or folded shapes joined to create unique surfaces
• Hone--the addition of shaping refines the fit
• Hybrid--folds, tucks, and rectangular inserts enhance traditional shapes

Each project is followed by a section headed "Design Your Own," in which Norah discusses the process that led her to the final design and gives tips on both tweaking the existing design and using the concept to create your own project.
