Tablet Weaving with John Mullarkey Ram's Horn and Its Relatives

Oct. 3 (Fri.) 9:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Ram's Horn is a popular beginner's pattern that belongs to the Kivrim family of patterns. Learn how to read a draft, set up the cards, and weave Running Dog, the building block of these patterns. With a few changes to turning, learn several of the variations like Ram's Horn and Ivy. No previous tablet weaving experience required. You must enroll in this class or be comfortable with these techniques to take either Days 2 or 3 classes. Materials and equipment not included.

Please purchase your class supplies before the first day of class. You can order it online. Just be sure to include a message that we should hold the yarn at the store to pick up during class.

Class supply list:

• Inkle style loom like the Schacht Inkle Loom ($132) or the Ashford Inkle Loom ($133) The Ashford loom needs to be assembled, please order in advance so you have plenty of time to receive it and have it assembled by class time. Please note that the loom must be large enough to accommodate 4-hole tablet weaving cards that measure 3.25" square so the Ashford Inklette will not work.
• 20 4-hole tablet weaving cards
• One Schacht Belt Shuttle or Ashford Belt Shuttle
• Three colors of 10/2 Perle cotton  that are at least 1/2-ounce each
• Two pill bottles filled with approximately 5-ounces each of pennies, washers, or other weights.
• Scissors

PARKING: The parking garage is located at 927 New Hampshire Street. Top level parking is free. Level 2 parking is $2.00 to park 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Street level and basement level parking is limited to 2 hours. Pay stations are located at each stairwell on the street level. Sunday parking is free downtown.
